Royal Trouble is a Fremennik quest set on the island of Miscellania, where a string of mysterious robberies threatens to spark a war with neighbouring Etceteria. As the island's regent, it's up to you to uncover the culprit and restore peace before tensions boil over.

General Questing recommendations

  • Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section.  
  • Hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

  • 5 coal (obtainable during the quest with a pickaxe, which is also obtainable)
  • 2 rope (obtainable from crates during the quest)
  • 1 plank (obtainable from a spawn during the quest)

  • Weapon, armour, and food
  • Superantipoison or any poison cure
  • Prayer level 43+ and Prayer potions for protection prayers
  • Stamina or energy potions

Walkthrough of Royal Trouble

  • Travel to Miscellania. You can take a boat from Rellekka. You can also use Fairy Rings to teleport there with the code CIP If you've unlocked them.
  • Talk to Advisor Ghrim in Miscellania castle. Reply 2, 1 to start the quest.

  • Talk to Princess Astrid in Miscellania castle.
  • Talk to King Vargas. Reply1.

NPCs in Miscellania

  • Talk to Gardener Gunnhild outside the castle.
  • Talk to Queen Sigrid in Etceteria Castle. Reply 1.
  • Talk to Matilda in the south of Etceteria Castle.
  • Bring 5 Coal, Combat gear, and any antipoison
  • Now is a good point to get your combat gear, antipoisons, and either 5 coal or a pickaxe out.
  • Return to King Vargas in Miscellania castle.
  • Talk to Advisor Ghrim in Miscellania castle. Reply 1.
  • Talk to the Sailor on the Miscellania docks. Reply 2.
  • Return to King Vargas in Miscellania castle to get a scroll.
  • Go down the ladder south of Miscellania castle.
  • Talk to Donal in the pub in the dungeon. Reply 1.

  • Use the mining prop on the crevice in the north west corner of the dungeon.
  • Enter the crevice in the north west corner of the dungeon.
  • Take a Pulley Beam.
  • Use the Pulley Beam on the Broken Scaffold.

Lift platform in Miscellania dungeon

  • Take a Pulley Beam.
  • Take a Beam.
  • Use a beam on a pulley beam.
  • Take another Beam.
  • Use a beam on the long pulley beam.
  • Use the Longer pulley beam on the Scaffold
  • Take a Pulley Beam.
  • Use the pulley beam on the Scaffold
  • Take a rope from the crate.
  • Use the rope on the broken scaffold
  • Take another Beam.
  • Use a beam on the platform.
  • Pick up an Engine
  • Read the nearby lift manual, then put 5 coal into the engine.
  • Use the Engine on the engine platform.
  • Take a rope from the crate in the lift room.
  • Take a lift up. Use rope on lift platform to do this.
  • Pick up the plank.

Tunnel under Miscellania

  • Enter the tunnel.
  • Use a rope on the rock over the water blocking the path.
  • Swing over the water on the ropeswing.
  • Search the fire remains.
  • Use a plank on the rocks to cross them.
  • Search the 2nd fire remains further along the path.
  • Search the 3rd fire remains further along the path.
  • Search the 4th fire remains further along the path.
  • Search the 5th fire remains further along the path.
  • Read the Diary
  • Enter the crevice at the end of the path.
  • Talk to Armod.
  • Prepare to fight the Giant Sea Snake. It will only use ranged attacks if you stand at a distance. It can poison you.
  • Kill the Giant Sea Snake.

Fighting Giant Sea Snake

  • Pick up the heavy box that drops
  • Leave the room.
  • Go up the rope that's appeared.
  • Talk to Queen Sigrid in Etceteria Castle.
  • Return to King Vargas to finish the quest.
