OSRS Mage Arena Cape 1 Guide

The Mage Arena I miniquest in Old School RuneScape allows players to earn powerful god capes and unlock god spells. This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough to help you navigate the challenges and earn the rewards of this miniquest.

Requirements:

Magic Level: 60 or higher
Prayer Level: 37 (Optional)

Items Needed:

Knife or slashing weapon (to cut webs)

Runes for your chosen combat spell

Food (e.g., lobsters or sharks)
Prayer potions (optional but recommended)

Magic-boosting gear (e.g., Mystic robes, Staff of Air, etc.)

Getting There

• Teleport to the Deep Wilderness (close to Mage Bank):
  

Use the lever located South of Edgeville or West of Ardougne to teleport to the level 54 Wilderness.

• Navigate to the Mage Arena:
  Cut through the web to exit the building.

• Head west until you reach another building.
  

• Enter, cut through two more webs, and pull the lever inside to access the Mage Arena bank area.

The Kolodion Battle

Speak to Kolodion to initiate the challenge. He will transform through five forms, each requiring defeat using Magic only:

• Human Form

• Ogre Form
  

• Giant Spider Form
  

• Ghost Form

• Black Demon Form
  

Tips:

• Use Protect from Magic prayer to mitigate damage.
  
• Use safespots behind skeletons in the arena to avoid attacks.
• Ensure you have sufficient runes and food before starting the battle.

Claiming Rewards

• After defeating Kolodion:
  

Talk to him again and step into the sparkling pool to the north.

• Choose Your God Cape:
  

Pray at one of the three god statues to receive the corresponding cape:

Guthix

Saradomin

Zamorak

• Obtain the God Staff:
  

Speak to the Chamber Guardian to receive the staff matching your chosen god. Additional staff can be purchased for 80,000 coins each.

Unlocking God Spells for General Use

To use your chosen god spell outside the Mage Arena:

• Equip the God staff and Cape (optional)

Both items must correspond to the same deity.

• Bring enough Runes for 100 spells:

x200 Blood Runes

x200 Fire Runes

x400 Air Runes

• Cast the Spell 100 Times:

Enter the Mage Arena and cast your god spell 100 times.

Note: Splashes still count as successful.

Additional Notes:

• To unlock the other two god spells for outside use, repeat the process: obtain the respective cape and staff, then cast the spell 100 times within the arena.

• Be cautious of player killers (PKers) in the Wilderness when entering or exiting the arena.

• World Selection: Choose a less populated world to reduce the risk of encountering PKers.
  

• Inventory Management: Bring only essential items to minimize potential losses.
  

• Prayer Usage: Maintain sufficient prayer points to use Protect from Magic throughout the Kolodion battle and in unlocking spells.
