Walkthrough of Tree Gnome Village

  • Talk to King Bolren in the northwestern part of the center of the Tree Gnome Maze. To get here, teleport to the Castle Wars, run northeast, then navigate through the maze and squeeze through the railing to get to Bolren. He will explain that three orbs were stolen by Khazard troops. Agree to help him, and Elkoy will escort you out of the maze.

King Bolren

  • Speak to Commander Montai, north of the Tree Gnome Maze. Reply 1 and speak to him again to give him the wood. He will ask you to bring 6 logs to repair the defences. After giving him the logs, talk to him again and he will tell you to help him find 3 trackers.

The Trackers

  • Speak to the first tracker Gnome (tracker gnome 1) behind or on the side of the biggest building northwest then speak to the second one (tracker gnome 2) in the northeast building in a Khazard prison. They both will give you the coordinates that you need
  • The third tracker (tracker gnome 3) is roaming outside the southwest corner of the stronghold and fire the ballista, south.

He’ll give you a clue for the number you need, but you’ll have to interpret it.

    • “Less than my hands” = 1

    • “More than my head but less than my fingers” = 2

    • “More than we but less than our feet” = 3

    • “My legs and your legs” = 4

There’s only one correct answer, so pay attention to what the third tracker says.

After that, return to the ballista in the south-west corner of the battlefield (not the catapult next to Montai). Enter the coordinate the third gnome tracker gave you. If you miss the shot, just fire again until you hit the target.

The Orbs

  • After you get a hit with the ballista, talk to Commander Montai and enter the building to the north, through the crumbled wall, then climb up the ladder west and search the chest for the first orb.

Note: After climbing the crumbled wall, you’ll encounter a stall where you are attacked and cannot heal. This can be dangerous for low-level players. You will be attacked by a level 48 Khazard Commander. They have low Hitpoints (22) and should not pose a problem for most mid-level players. You can safespot the commander behind the northern broken chair. Defeating the commander is optional; you can also skip them and proceed to the western room to climb the ladder.

    • Once you climb the ladder, you will encounter another level 48 Khazard Commander. Either defeat them or head straight to the chest to retrieve the Orb of Protection.

  • After obtaining the orb, run back down the ladder and exit through the south nearby door. Return to the north-west maze entrance and speak with Elkoy. He will offer to guide you through the maze — accept his help.
  • Talk to King Bolren in the center of the maze. He will inform you that the other two Orbs of Protection have been stolen by the Khazard Warlord.

Note: The Warlord will only drop the orbs after you have spoken with the King.

Items needed: Decent armour (full iron platebody works fine), weapon (your best scimitar), and good food.

  • Wear your best gear, ready to fight the Warlord, south-west of West Ardougne. Talk to him when ready. The Warlord will be unaggressive till you talk to him.

Best Strategy for the Khazard Warlord

  • It's possible to kill the Warlord without protection prayers and not take damage. This method requires 35 magic and it's recommended have 20+ HP since the Walord has a max hit of 10. The safespot highlighted below is outside of the Warlord's attack range. Attack him and run there before he gets close. If done correctly, you will not take any damage during the fight.

  • After defeating him, collect the Orbs of Protection and return them to King Bolren. A cutscene will play, showing the gnomes celebrating and performing a ceremony as the orbs are restored to their rightful places on the sacred Spirit Tree. King Bolren places the orbs back on the Spirit Tree.

Congratulations! You have completed Tree Gnome Village quest.
