The Knight’s Sword is a short but iconic quest where you help the Squire replace Sir Vyvin’s lost ceremonial sword—without Sir Vyvin ever knowing. The quest is quick, gives a massive early Smithing boost, and is beginner-friendly as long as you’re careful inside the Blurite cave.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Length: Short
General Questing Tips: Enable the RuneLite Quest Helper plugin for step-by-step guidance. Hold spacebar to skip dialog and use number keys for response options. Bring food before entering the Blurite cave—Ice Warriors hit surprisingly hard if you’re low-level.
These save several minutes of running

Pickaxe: Any pickaxe works; I used a steel pickaxe for speed.
I finished the quest in about 7 minutes. New players should expect roughly the same if they follow the safe mining method shown below.
Recommended: Falador teleport

Tip: If you’ve already completed The Giant Dwarf, your character automatically knows who Thurgo is, and you can skip Reldo entirely.
Recommended: Varrock teleport

Bring: Redberry pie
Recommended: Mudskipper point teleport and falador teleport to start next section

Choose dialog option 2 to offer him the pie. He’ll help you only after eating it.
Recommended: Teleport to Mudskipper point for next section
Head back to Falador Castle and chat with the Squire again. Then, go upstairs:
Climb the east ladder
Head west into Sir Vyvin’s area
Go up the staircase
Finally, search the southern cupboard.
Quick heads-up: make sure Sir Vyvin isn’t in the room when you search the cupboard. If he is, either wait, hop worlds, or walk into the next room until he wanders off.

Bring: A portrait, 2 iron bars and pickaxe
Recommended: food, if low level or prayer potion, Mudskipper teleport, and Falador teleport to finish quest
Return to Thurgo and give him the portrait (choose reply 1).
Now you need to mine a Blurite from Blurite rocks. Climb down the ladder northeast of his hut, highlighted below to enter the Blurite Cave. All monsters here are aggressive, so bring food if you don’t have Protect from Melee.

Identifying Blurite:
Blurite rocks are bright blue—super easy to spot
Safe Mining Method (Highly Recommended)
The cave has ice spikes on the floor. Stand behind them while mining to prevent the Ice Warriors or Ice Giants from reaching you since they will get stuck.
You take zero damage while mining.

I mined the blurite ore with 10 Mining in about 15 seconds using this method.
If you plan to complete the Falador Easy Diary, mine one extra Blurite ore now.
Return to Thurgo with:
Choose reply 1 to have him forge the sword.
If you want a Blurite sword for yourself:
Finally, return to the Squire in Falador Castle to complete the quest.
Congratulations — Quest Complete!
