OSRS Druidic Ritual Quest Guide: Unlock Herblore

OSRS Druidic Ritual Quest Guide: Unlock Herblore

The Druidic Ritual quest is a very short, beginner-friendly task that unlocks the Herblore skill. Everything happens in and around Taverley, making it one of the fastest early-game quests in Old School RuneScape.

General Questing Tips

Turn on the RuneLite Quest Helper to make navigation easier, hold spacebar to skip dialogue, and use number keys to pick chat options instantly.

Item Requirements for Druidic Ritual

Normal accounts can buy everything from the Grand Exchange:

  • 1 Raw Bear meat
  • 1 Raw Rat meat
  • 1 Raw Beef
  • 1 Raw Chicken

How to Get the Required Items as an Ironman

Even though you can grab these items from other spots, I find these locations the easiest:

Raw Bear & Raw Rat meat
I usually head south of the Varrock south-east mine and take out the Bear and Giant Rats for their meat.

Raw Beef & Raw Chicken
Cows and chickens at the farm just south-east of Falador’s southern gate are super easy options as well.

Alternative Option: If you’ve unlocked Canifis, Rufus’ Meat Emporium sells all four meats instantly—definitely a time-saver if you don’t feel like killing animals.

Time to complete

Normal accounts: ~2 minutes
Ironman: Slightly longer depending on how fast you gather the meats

Druidic Ritual has no skill or quest requirements.

Recommendations

Stamina potions: they’ll save your time since there is some running around.

Games necklace or Falador teleports
I like having a games necklace early since it’s handy for a bunch of quests. Ironman accounts should craft one as soon as they can. If you don’t have one yet, Falador teleports work perfectly fine too.

Walkthrough for Druidic Ritual

Speak to Kaqemeex

Teleport to Burthorpe and run south, or teleport to Falador and run north to Taverley - I recommend using the games necklace since it is faster and cheaper. Then head to the Stone Circle just north of Taverley to speak with Kaqemeex—his location is shown in the image below.

  • Choose chat options 2 → 1.
He’ll ask for help purifying the druidic stone circle.
  • The fastest route is to Falador teleport → run northwest to Taverley.

Talk to Sanfew in Taverley

Bring all four raw meats

  • Head south and climb the stairs to enter the Taverley Herblore store. Once inside, talk to Sanfew (location shown below) and choose dialogue options 1 → 2. He’ll explain that you need to enchant the meats using the Cauldron of Thunder. The image below shows the path to reach him.

How to get to Sanfew

Enchanting the Meat

Bring: food (i recommend bringing 5-7 lobsters) and all four meat

  • Head south into Taverley Dungeon. Low-level players should bring food—level 22–23 Skeletons and level 19 suits of armour may attack you.

Cauldron in tarverley dungeon

Once inside, run north until you reach a gate guarded by two animated armour suits.
You have two options: fight the guards or spam-click the gate to sneak past safely. I usually find it quicker to just spam-click the gate, especially if you’re on a low-level account.

Use the Meats on the Cauldron

  • Inside the room, you’ll find the Cauldron of Thunder.
  • Use all four meats on the cauldron to turn them into their enchanted (blue) versions:
  • Enchanted bear
  • Enchanted chicken
  • Enchanted rat
  • Enchanted beef

Speak to Sanfew Again

Bring: All 4 enchanted meat

  • Exit the dungeon, return to Sanfew, and hand over the enchanted meats.

Finish the Quest

  • Talk to Kaqemeex one last time to complete the quest and unlock Herblore.
