OSRS Mage Arena Cape 2 Guide

The Mage Arena II miniquest in Old School RuneScape allows players to upgrade their god capes into more powerful imbued versions. This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough to help you navigate the challenges and reap the rewards of this miniquest.

Requirements

Magic Level: 75 or higher

Prayer Level: 37 (Optional)

Completion of Mage Arena I: You must have completed the Mage Arena I miniquest.

Ability to Cast God Spells: You should be able to cast Saradomin Strike, Flames of Zamorak, and Claws of Guthix outside the Mage Arena.

Items Needed:

Knife or slashing weapon (to cut webs)

Runes for your chosen god spell

Magic-boosting gear (e.g., Mystic robes, Staff of Zamorak, etc.)

Food (e.g., lobsters or sharks)
Prayer potions (optional but recommended)

Ring of Recoil (Optional)

Getting There

Teleport to the Deep Wilderness (close to Mage Bank):

• Use the lever located South of Edgeville or West of Ardougne to teleport to the level 54 Wilderness.
  

• Cut through the web to exit the building.
  

• Head west until you reach another building.
  

• Enter, cut through two more webs, and pull the lever inside to access the Mage Arena bank area.

Start the Quest

• Speak to Kolodion in the Mage Arena bank.
• He will provide you with an enchanted symbol, which is used to locate the three god followers.

Locating and Defeating the God Followers

The enchanted symbol functions similarly to a hot-cold device, guiding you to the followers' locations in the Wilderness. Activating the symbol inflicts up to 16 damage, so use it cautiously. The follower's spawn locations are random, and will change occasionally (approximately 45 minutes between changes); you will be notified of this when you use the enchanted symbol after the spawn change. Spawn rotations are unique for each player.

Here's a photo of the possible locations where the demons may be located. It's highly recommended given the high damage caused by each wasted click on the stranger device.

1. Porazdir (Zamorak Follower)

• Location: Deep Wilderness, often near the Lava Maze.
  
• Required Spell: Flames of Zamorak
• Required Staff: Zamorak staff or Staff of the Dead
  
• Required Cape: Zamorak god cape
  

Strategy:

• • Use the Charge spell before engaging to maximize damage
  • Protect from Magic prayer is HIGHLY recommended

2. Justiciar Zachariah (Saradomin Follower)

• Location: Deep Wilderness, often near the Wilderness Volcano.
  
• Required Spell: Saradomin Strike
• Required Staff: Saradomin staff or Staff of Light
• Required Cape: Saradomin god cape
  

Strategy:

• • Be prepared to move away from blue waves he casts, which can teleport you and deal significant damage.
    
  • Use the Charge spell and Protect from Magic prayer

3. Derwen (Guthix Follower)

• Location: Deep Wilderness, often near the Demonic Ruins.
  
• Required Spell: Claws of Guthix
  
• Required Staff: Guthix staff Staff of Balance, or Void Knight Mace
  
• Required Cape: Guthix god cape

Strategy:

• • Destroy green orbs he summons to prevent him from healing.
    
  • Use the Charge spell and Protect from Magic prayer

Imbuing Your God Cape

After defeating all three followers, return to Kolodion in the Mage Arena bank. He will imbue your chosen god cape, enhancing its stats. Each imbued cape provides a +2 increase in Magic attack and defense bonuses compared to the regular god capes.

Note: You can only imbue one cape at a time. To imbue another cape, you must repeat the process for the corresponding god follower.

  • Bring ample food, prayer potions, and runes for your chosen god spells.
    
• Wilderness Precautions:
  
  • Be aware that the fights occur in the Wilderness, a PvP area.
    
  • Avoid bringing valuable items you're not willing to lose.
    
  • Consider using a looting bag to store additional supplies. When the looting bag is destroyed in the Wilderness, the contents inside will drop on the ground and they are instantly visible to you and other players.

  • Utilize Protect from Magic prayer to mitigate incoming damage
