The Restless Ghost is one of the first quests you’ll probably do in OSRS. Basically, you help the Lumbridge priest deal with a ghost that’s been haunting the graveyard—pretty simple and a good way to get some early Prayer XP.

- Hold the spacebar to breeze through dialogue, and use number keys to pick chat options quickly.
Quest Completion Time
Restless ghost takes between 1-2 minutes to complete, depending if you have the teleports.
Recommended teleports
- 3 Lumbridge teleports
- 1 necklace of passage.
These save you a lot of running back and forth between Lumbridge and the Wizards’ Tower. Not required, but they make the quest much smoother and faster.
Enemies to defeat
Skeleton (level 13): You don’t need to fight it at all—just run away from it and you’ll be fine.
The Restless Ghost quest has no skill, quest, or item requirements.
Walkthrough of Restless Ghost
Starting the quest
Recommended: I suggest you bring all recommended teleports before starting, so you don’t have to visit the bank.
- First, use the Home or Lumbridge Teleport. Once in Lumbridge, head to the church shown on the map below and speak to Father Aereck. Choose dialogue options 3, then 1, to start the quest.

- Head into the southwest of Lumbridge Swamp and talk to Father Urhney. Pick options 2, then 1.
- Next, go to the Lumbridge Graveyard and open the coffin to make the ghost appear.
With your Ghostspeak amulet equipped, talk to the ghost and choose option 1.
Releasing the Ghost
Recommended: Necklace of passage
- After that, Teleport with the Necklace of passage or run to the Wizard’s Tower and go down into the basement.
- Once inside, search the eastern altar to grab the ghost’s skull. A level 13 skeleton will spawn and attack you, but you can ignore it—just grab the skull and run out.
- Climb back up the ladder to leave the basement.
- Then return to the coffin in the Lumbridge Graveyard and search it to finish the quest.
Congratulations! You have completed the Restless Ghost.
