Killing Rune dragons using melee makes 1,709,374 GP/hr and gives 93k Melee XP/hr and 30k Hitpoints XP/hr.
Rune dragons always drop Runite bars, used to train Smithing, and Dragon bones, used to train Prayer, on top of other valuable loot, which makes them profitable to kill.
They can be found in the Lithkren Vault, an underground dragonkin research facility unlocked through the completion of Dragon Slayer II quest. You can teleport there using a Digsite Pendant, made by enchanting a Ruby necklace. You will need to find a clean necklace through cleaning Uncleaned finds at the Varrock Museum before you can enchant Ruby necklaces.
If you want an account already set up towards killing Rune dragons, you can buy a Rune dragon-ready account from us.
Rune dragons attack with mage, ranged, melee, and dragonfire. They also have 2 special attacks, which you can just ignore when wearing Justiciar armour and Insulated boots.
The Justiciar Armour set is required for AFK-ing Rune dragons. Justiciar armour, when wearing the full set, reduces all combat damage and is necessary to tank the Rune dragon's accurate hits.
Here is my loadout for killing Rune dragons:

Head slot: Justiciar faceguard - Wearing the full set of Justiciar armour reduces all combat damage.
Back: Fire cape - best melee cape until you get an Infernal cape
Neck: Bonecrusher necklace - provides great prayer bonus, automatically crushes bones for Prayer XP
Ammo: Rada’s blessing 3 - provides a +1 Prayer bonus, Any god’s blessing will do.
Weapon: Osmumten’s fang - has a passive that improves accuracy. Dragon hunter lance is a little better.
Shield: Dragonfire shield - shield with a strength bonus and protects against dragonfire.
Body: Justiciar chestguard - required for Justiciar set effect
Legs: Justiciar legguards - required for Justiciar set effect
Gloves: Barrows gloves - good gloves for all combat styles
Boots: Insulated boots - reduces the damage done by the Rune dragon’s special attack.
Ring: Imbued Berserker Ring - provides +8 Strength bonus.

The Super combat potion boosts my stats. I brought one dose to free up inventory space after drinking the potion.
The Extended antifire is used for protection against dragonfire. I brought one dose for the same reason as the Super combat potion.
The 2 Prayer potions (4) will be used to restore Prayer points. Piety and Protect from Magic prayer will be used.
Potatoes with cheese heal 16 Hitpoints and are cheap at 301 coins each. I bring 15 Potatoes with cheese to last the entire trip.
The Teleport to house tablet is used to fully restore my health and prayer at my Player-owned -house, and the Digsite pendant is used to return to the Lithkren vault.

With level 92 Attack and level 97 Strength, I was able to kill 25 Rune dragons in 30 minutes and got 1,168,391 GP worth of loot. The supplies I used are as follows:
| Item | Quantity Used | Price GP (Checked October, 2026) | Total Price GP (Checked October, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super combat potion (1) | 3 | 2,954 | 8,862 |
| Extended antifire (1) | 3 | 101 | 303 |
| Prayer potion (4) | 5 | 8,791 | 43,955 |
| Potato with cheese | 45 | 301 | 13,545 |
| Teleport to house tablet | 3 | 501 | 1,503 |
| Total Cost of Supplies | 68,168 | ||
The profit minus the supplies is 1,100,223 GP. With these results, you can expect to kill 50 Rune dragons per hour and make 2,200,446 GP/hr. Your actual profit may be a little lower because I got lucky with 2 Dragon platelegs drops when I was testing this method.

Chopping the Engorged bloodwood tree requires 77 Woodcutting making 1,434,300 GP/hr and gives 70k Woodcutting XP/hr.
The Engorged bloodwood tree is the AFK version of Bloodwood Trees and can be found in Vampyrium. This requires the completion of The Blood Moon Rises quest to access.

Chopping the Engorged bloodwood tree can give you Buckets of bloodwood sap, which is worth 71,715 GP if used to treat Redwood logs and made into Seeking dragon arrows.
We have a detailed guide explaining the complete mechanics of Bloodwoods.
I tested this method for 30 minutes at 99 Woodcutting and using a Dragon axe, and I got 10 Buckets of bloodwood sap. This equates to 20 Buckets of bloodwood sap per hour worth 1,434,300 GP/hr.

Killing Skeletal wyverns with melee at the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon makes 896,282 GP/hr and gives 50k Combat XP and 17k Hitpoints XP.
Skeletal wyverns require level 72 Slayer to kill and are found in the Asgarnian Ice Dungeon. To get there, you can use the Giantsoul amulet to teleport to the Royal titans boss and running east. You can also use Fairy rings, a teleportation method unlocked through the Fairytale II - Cure a Queen quest, via code AIQ and running north.
![]() | ![]() |
Skeletal wyverns attack with ranged, melee, and an icy dragon breath. Wearing a Dragonfire shield or the Elemental shields from the Elemental Workshop reduced the max hit of the Icy breath to 10. The Ancient wyvern shield completely negates the damage from their Icy breath.
A sample loadout for gear and inventory is shown below:

Head slot: Justiciar faceguard
Back: Fire cape
Neck: Amulet of torture - an offensive melee amulet that provides +10 Strength bonus
Ammo: Rada’s blessing 3.
Weapon: Osmumten’s fang
Shield: Dragonfire shield - shield with a strength bonus, reduces the damage of the Wyvern’s Icy breath to a maximum hit of 10
Body: Justiciar chestguard
Legs: Justiciar legguards
Gloves: Barrows gloves
Boots: Aranea boots - good boots for all combat styles and provides a prayer bonus
Ring: Imbued Berserker Ring

The Giantsoul amulet is used to teleport to the Royal titans, a location close to the Skeletal wyverns.
1 dose of Super combat potion to boost my melee stats as Skeletal wyverns have high defence.
I brought 3 Prayer potions (4) to restore prayer. Because we are using tank gear, I will only use the Piety prayer.
The Teleport-to-house tablet teleports me to my house where I can restore prayer and health, and teleport to a bank.
Potatoes with cheese heal 16 Hitpoints and are cheap at 301 coins each. I bring ten to last the whole trip.

I killed 36 Skeletal wyverns in 30 minutes at 92 Attack and 97 Strength and got 502,700 GP in loot. I used the gear and inventory setup above with only the Piety prayer active.
A breakdown of the supplies I used is as follows:
| Item | Quantity Used | Price GP (Checked October, 2026) | Total Price GP (Checked October, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prayer potion (4) | 4 | 8,791 | 35,164 |
| Super combat potion (1) | 3 | 2,954 | 8,862 |
| Potato with cheese | 30 | 301 | 9,030 |
| Teleport to house tablet | 3 pieces | 501 | 1,503 |
| Total Cost of Supplies | 54,559 | ||
Subtracting the cost of supplies, the total profit is 448,141 GP. This means that killing Skeletal wyverns makes 896,282 GP/hr. Your profit may be a little higher or lower due to the variance in drops.

Killing Brutal black dragons with melee makes 880,596 GP/hr and gives 50k Combat XP and 17k Hitpoints XP.
Brutal black dragons are slayer monsters requiring level 77 Slayer to kill. They attack with melee, magic, and dragonfire. They always drop 1 set of Dragon bones and 2 Black dragonhides on top of other loot from their drop table, making each kill valuable.
![]() | ![]() |
They can be found inside the Catacombs of Kourend. The closest teleport is through the Book of the Dead or Kharedst’s Memories ‘Jewellery of Jubilation’ option.
You can use ranged or melee to kill Brutal black dragons. When AFK-ing with ranged, you will need to pay attention to your positioning because Brutal black dragons will hit hard and accurately at melee range when using ranged armor.
Melee allows you to AFK a bit more since you will be more tanky against the melee attacks. You will still need to pay attention to your Hitpoints as the Brutal black dragons can hit hard.
Here is a sample loadout for killing Brutal black dragons with melee:

Head slot: Justiciar faceguard
Back: Fire cape
Neck: Bonecrusher necklace
Ammo: Rada’s blessing 3
Weapon: Osmumten’s fang
Shield: Dragonfire shield
Body: Justiciar chestguard
Legs: Justiciar legguards
Gloves: Barrows gloves
Boots: Aranea boots
Ring: Imbued Berserker Ring

The Book of the Dead or Kharedst’s Memories allows quick teleport to Lovakengj and accessing the Catacombs through a shortcut.
1 dose of Extended antifire is enough to cover 1 trip as it lasts 12 minutes.
I brought 1 prayer potion to restore prayer if needed. I will only use the Protect from Magic prayer so 1 or 2 doses of prayer potion will suffice per trip.
The Teleport-to-house tablet teleports me to my house where I can recover my combat stats and teleport to a bank.
Potatoes with cheese heal 16 Hitpoints and are cheap at 301 coins each. I bring ten for healing because the Brutal black dragons can hit hard.

At 92 Attack and 97 Strength, I killed 20 Brutal black dragons in 30 minutes. The loot came to 459,925 GP. Here is what I used up:
| Item | Quantity Used | Price GP (Checked October, 2026) | Total Price GP (Checked October, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prayer potion (4) | 1 | 8,791 | 8,791 |
| Extended antifire (1) | 3 | 101 | 303 |
| Potato with cheese | 30 | 301 | 9,030 |
| Teleport to house tablet | 3 | 501 | 1,503 |
| Total Cost of Supplies | 19,627 | ||
The total profit after subtracting the cost of supplies is 440,298 GP. At this rate, you can kill 40 Brutal black dragons per hour for a profit of 880,596 GP/hr.. Your hourly profit may vary slightly depending on the drops you receive.

Making Sacred oil at Shades of Mort’ton makes 857,222 GP/hr.
Sacred oil is used to make Pyrewood logs used in burning shades at the Shades of Mort’ton minigame.
Making Sacred oil requires the completion of the Shades of Mort’ton quest. You can get there quickly using the Minigames teleport in your spellbook.

Making Sacred oil requires Sanctity and Olive oil to be used at the fire altar. Sanctity is gained by reinforcing the Temple walls or by killing the Loar shades attacking the temple. Reinforcing the Temple walls requires you to deposit supplies of Timber beams, Limestone bricks, and Swamp paste, all of which can be bought from Razmire Keelgan.
The following items can improve efficiency and quality of life when making sacred oil:

I made Sacred oil for 30 minutes, banking at Burgh de Rott and running back to the Shades of Mort’ton. I made a total of 141 Sacred oil (4) at 80 Crafting, which I sold in the Grand Exchange for 3,200 GP each and got 442,176 GP after taxes.

The supply costs are as follows:
| Item | Quantity Used | Price GP (Checked October, 2026) | Total Price GP (Checked October, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Olive oil (4) | 141 | 57 GP | 8,037 |
| Timber beam | 18 | 1 GP if bought from Razmire Keelgan | 25 |
| Limestone brick | 18 | 21 GP if bought from Razmire Keelgan | 751 |
| Swamp paste | 90 | 26 GP | 2,340 |
| Flamtaer bracelet | 3 | 804 GP | 2.412 |
| Total Cost of Supplies | 13,565 | ||
Timber beams and limestone bricks are cheaper to buy from Razmire Keelgan. The total cost includes the 4% change in price per item. Avoid buying swamp paste from Razmire Keelgan, as the 4% change in price per item can make it expensive.
Less supply expense, I profited 428,611 GP. This equates to 282 Sacred oil per hour and a profit of 857,222 GP/hr.

Killing Dust devils in the Catacombs of Kourend makes 761,710 GP/hr and gives 113k Ranged XP/hr and 37k Hitpoints XP/hr
Dust devils are slayer monsters that require level 65 Slayer to kill. They require a Facemask or Slayer helmet to prevent their stat draining attack, which always hits 16 damage.
![]() | ![]() |
You can afk them with ranged by using a Venator bow in the Catacombs of Kourend. Two teleports get you to the Catacombs of Kourend. Kourend Castle Teleport needs Client of Kourend. Xeric's Talisman, a Lizardmen drop, has a Xeric's Heart option.
This afk method is made possible by the Venator bow. The Venator bow is a ranged weapon that has a mechanic allowing your arrows to bounce off enemies twice, which can hit multiple enemies. Monsters you hit will continually be aggressive, making this useful for AFK-ing.
Since you’re hitting multiple enemies in a multi-combat area, you will need to pray Protect from Melee at all times. Equipment with a Prayer bonus will enable you to AFK for a longer time and save money on Prayer potions.
A sample loadout is shown below:

Head slot: Slayer helmet - provides protection from the Dust devil's mechanics
Back: Ava’s assembler - best cape for Ranged until you get a quiver
Neck: Bonecrusher necklace - provides great prayer bonus, automatically crushes bones for Prayer XP
Ammo: Amethyst arrows - 2nd only to Dragon arrows at a fraction of the cost
Weapon: Venator bow - makes this method possible to AFK
Body: Hueycoatl hide body - ranged body with prayer bonus
Legs: Hueycoatl hide chaps - ranged legs with prayer bonus
Gloves: Barrows gloves
Boots: Aranea boots
Ring: Imbued Ring of the Gods - I don’t have an offensive Ranged ring, so I’ll just prioritize prayer bonus to save on Prayer potions.

The Xeric’s talisman is used for teleporting to the Catacombs of Kourend via the ‘Xeric’s Heart’ option of the talisman.
The Rune pouch contains runes for High Alchemy. Dust devils drop staves, vambraces, adamant, and rune items, which are profitable to alchemise.
I brought 5 Prayer potions to extend my trip
The Bonecrusher automatically buries bones dropped by the Dust devils, restoring 1 Prayer point. The prayer restoration through burying bones is a special mechanic of the Catacombs of Kourend.

At 99 Ranged, I killed 131 Dust devils in 30 minutes. I used the loadout above and only used Protect from Melee.
The total loot was worth 416,911 GP. A breakdown of my supplies used is as follows:
| Item | Quantity Used | Price GP (Checked October, 2026) | Total Price GP (Checked October, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prayer potion (4) | 1 | 8,791 | 8,791 |
| Ancient essence (1 essence is 1 charge of the Venator bow) | 683 charges | 18 | 12,294 |
| Amethyst arrows | 127 | 118 | 14,986 |
| Total Cost of Supplies | 36,071 | ||
The total profit is 380,840 GP, and doing this for an hour would make 761,680 GP/hr.

Killing Vyrewatch sentinels at Darkmeyer makes 422,222 GP/hr in normal loot and gives 70k Combat XP/hr and 23k Hitpoints XP/hr.
Vyrewatch sentinels are found in Darkmeyer and require the completion of Sins of the Father quest to fight and kill them. The quickest way to get there is by using the Drakan’s Medallion to teleport to Darkmeyer.

Vyrewatch sentinels, prior to completing The Blood Moon Rises quest, are always aggressive to players not wearing a Vyrewatch outfit, used in the Sins of the Father quest. This makes the sentinels ideal for AFK-ing as they will always attack you.
After completion of the Blood Moon Rises, Vyrewatch sentinels will only be aggressive if you have a Garlic cocktail, bought from the werewolf in Darkmeyer, in your inventory.
Vyrewatch sentinels drop the Blood shard, used to turn an Amulet of fury into a Blood Amulet of fury, at a 1/1500 drop rate and is currently worth 8,449,962 GP.

You bring no supplies here. Protect from Melee blocks all their damage. When your prayer runs low, pray at the statue nearby. It refills your Prayer points for 1-3 Hitpoints.

Head slot: Bloodmoon helm - use your best melee helm
Back: Fire cape
Neck: Bonecrusher necklace - provides + Prayer bonus enabling longer AFK time until you need to restore prayer.
Ammo: Rada’s blessing - provides a +1 Prayer bonus, Any god’s blessing will do.
Weapon: Sunspear - best in slot against vampyres, quest reward for the completion of The Blood Moon Rises quest. Use your best Vampyrebane weapon.
Body: Bloodmoon chestplate - use your best melee body
Legs: Bloodmoon legs - use your best melee legs
Gloves: Barrows gloves - good gloves for all combat styles
Boots: Aranea boots - good boots for all combat styles and provides a prayer bonus
Ring: Imbued Berserker Ring - provides +8 Strength bonus.

The Drakan’s Medallion is used for teleporting to Darkmeyer.
The Garlic cocktail is only needed if you have completed The Blood Moon Rises quest so that the Vyrewatch sentinels will remain aggressive.

At 92 Attack an 97 Strength, I was able to kill 60 Vyrewatch sentinels in 30 minutes and got 211,111 GP profit. In an hour, I would be able to kill 120 Vyrewatch sentinels and make 422,222 GP/hr without getting a Blood shard drop.

Making Rosewood planks using the Plank Make spell from the Lunar Spellbook makes 353,990 GP/hr and gives 81k Magic XP/hr.
Plank Make is a spell from the Lunar spellbook that requires level 86 Magic and the completion of The Dream Mentor quest to cast. It turns logs into planks, requiring coins costing 70% of what the Sawmill operator charges.

You will need the runes to cast Plank Make, which is 1 Nature rune and 2 Astral runes with a Mud battlestaff equipped. The Mud battlestaff supplies the needed Earth and Water runes. Using a Rune pouch saves extra inventory space for more logs.
Sawmill vouchers increase the amount of planks you make per log to 2 instead of only 1, saving the coin fees for the extra plank.
The Plank sack is a reward from Mahogany Homes, the construction minigame, which serves as extra inventory space for planks. This is useful in tandem with Sawmill vouchers, as the extra planks will be stored in the Plank sack.
Coins are needed for fees to turn the logs into planks.
For this method, we will be using Rosewood logs to make Rosewood planks, as they are currently the most profitable logs to turn into planks.
Note: If your inventory is full, the Sawmill vouchers will not be used, and you won’t make extra planks, which may result in losses. Always empty your Plank sack when banking to avoid this.
![]() | ![]() |
I bought materials for 1,000 casts of Plank Make and started making planks. In 30 minutes, I was able to cast Plank Make 455 times, making 910 Rosewood planks.
A breakdown of the cost of materials used is as follows:
| Item | Quantity Used | Price GP (Checked October, 2026) | Total Price GP (Checked October, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astral rune | 910 | 128 | 116,480 |
| Nature rune | 455 | 142 | 64,610 |
| Sawmill voucher | 455 | 3113 | 1,416,415 |
| Rosewood logs | 455 | 356 | 161,980 |
| Coin fees | 455 | 5250 | 2,388,750 |
| Total Cost of Supplies | 4,148,235 | ||
I sold the 910 Rosewood planks for 4,850 GP each and got 4,325,230 GP after taxes. The total profit is 176,995 GP, after supply costs. This means that making Rosewood planks makes 353,990 GP/hr.

Chopping Infected Roots requires 80 Woodcutting making 175,112 GP/hr and gives 9k Woodcutting XP/hr.
Infected roots can be found inside the Ruins of Mokhaiotl, just outside the Doom of Mokhaiotl lobby. It requires completion of the Final Dawn quest to access.
You can use the Pendant of Ates to teleport to Kastori and then run to the Ruins of Mokhaiotl. The Pendant of Ates is a 1/25 drop from the Amoxliatl or a 1/100 drop from Frost Naguas. You can also use a Mokhaiotl Waystone, which is a common drop from the Doom of Mokhaiotl.
Personally, I would just use the Pendant of the Ates, as Mokhaiotl Waystones are expensive at 29,932 GP each.

Chopping Infected roots gives Demon Tears, which are used to charge the Eye of Ayak, a level 83 powered staff dropped by the Doom of Mokhaiotl. Infected roots do not deplete. You can click once and AFK for the entire duration of your AFK timer or until your inventory is full of logs.
What’s great about chopping Infected roots is that Demon Tears are stackable, so there is no need to bank. A log basket doubles how many logs you carry. You don't need one. Dropping a full inventory takes 20 seconds.
I tested this method with 99 Woodcutting and a Dragon axe. I got 371 Demon Tears in 30 minutes. This equates to 742 Demon Tears per hour and 175,112 GP/hr.
If you’re interested, we also have other Woodcutting Money-making Guides.
F2P money-making methods are hard to come by, but here are the 3 best methods that are AFK-able.
| Summary of F2P AFK Money-Making Methods | |||||
| Rank | Method | Requirements | GP/hr | XP/hr | AFK Time |
| 1 | Smithing Rune 2h Swords | Level 99 Smithing | 1,335,900 (Trading to players) / 674,520 (G.E) | 197,000 | 30 seconds |
| 2 | Crafting Diamond Necklaces | Level 56 Crafting | 333,072 | 115,000 | 30 seconds |
| 3 | Chopping Yew Trees in a Forestry World F2P | Level 60 Woodcutting | 23,688 | 39,000 | 2 minutes |

Smithing Rune 2h swords makes 1,335,900 GP/hr and 197k Smithing XP/hr.
Rune items are always in demand, as it is profitable to use the High Alchemy spell on them. Only 3 items are profitable to smith from Runite bars: Rune plateskirts, Rune platelegs and Rune 2h swords.
This requires a steep requirement of level 99 Smithing. Rune plateskirts, Rune platelegs, and Rune 2h swords each require 3 Runite bars to smith. An inventory of 27 Runite bars takes 30 seconds to smith into 9 pieces of these items.
I recommend smithing at the Varrock West Bank, as it is very close to an anvil.

I smithed a total of 438 Rune 2h swords and sold them to the Grand Exchange for 37,750 GP each and got 16,203,810 GP after taxes. Subtracting the total cost of 1,314 Runite bars worth 12,075 GP, I was able to profit 337,260 GP.

This works out to smithing 876 Rune 2h swords per hour and making 674,520 GP/hr. You also have the option to sell directly to other players. They are constantly bought by F2P players for High alchemy. Selling to them directly increases the GP/hr to 1,335,900 GP/hr.
| Item | Price of Materials (Checked October 2026) | Grand Exchange Price (Checked October 2026) | GP/hr Selling to the Grand Exchange | GP/hr Selling Directly to Other Players |
| Rune plateskirt | 3 Runite bars (36,225 GP) | 37,668 | 604,124 | 1,264,068 |
| Rune platelegs | 3 Runite bars (36,225 GP) | 37,585 | 532,870 | 1,191,360 |

Crafting Diamond necklaces requires 56 Crafting making 333,072 GP/hr, and gives 115k Crafting XP/hr
Diamond necklaces can be enchanted to Phoenix necklaces, which automatically heal you for 30% of your Hitpoints (HP) when you drop below 20% HP. These are used in high level Player-versus-Monster (PVM) and also in Player-versus-Player (PVP) encounters, which makes Diamond necklaces consistently in demand.

Edgeville is recommended when making Diamond necklaces, as it is the closest furnace to a bank in F2P. It takes 30 seconds to craft 13 Diamond necklaces, allowing you to AFK for that duration between inventories.
I was able to make 324 Diamond necklaces in 15 minutes of crafting, which I sold in the Grand Exchange for 1,799 GP each and got 571,536 GP. The Gold bars cost 62 GP each, and the Diamonds 1,445 GP each, making the total cost of supplies 488,268 GP.

Subtracting the cost of supplies, I profited 83,268 GP. In an hour I would be able to make 1,296 Diamond necklaces and make 333,072 GP/hr.
A table for other items you can craft for profit is shown below. The GP/hr assumes you craft 1,296 pieces of jewelry per hour and doesn’t subtract the Grand Exchange tax upon selling the items:
| Item | Crafting level | Price of Materials (Checked October 2026) | Grand Exchange Price in GP (Checked October 2026) | Profit (GP) | GP/hr | Crafting XP/hr |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Diamond ring | 43 | Gold bar (62 GP) + Diamond (1,445 GP) = 1,507 GP | 1,803 | 296 | 383,616 | 110k XP/hr |
| Diamond amulet (u) | 70 | Gold bar (62 GP) + Diamond (1,445 GP) = 1,507 GP | 1,795 | 288 | 373,248 | 129k XP/hr |
| Ruby amulet (u) | 50 | Gold bar (62 GP) + Ruby (712 GP) = 774 GP | 1,027 | 253 | 327,888 | 110k XP/hr |
| Emerald amulet (u) | 31 | Gold bar (62 GP) + Emerald (336 GP) = 398 GP | 570 | 172 | 222,912 | 90k XP/hr |
| Ruby necklace | 40 | Gold bar (62 GP) + Ruby (712 GP) = 774 GP | 942 | 168 | 217,728 | 97k XP/hr |
The table shows that Diamond rings and Diamond amulets (u) offer higher GP/hr. Their daily volumes are only 9,491 and 32,077, respectively. Diamond necklaces have a daily volume of 89,992, making them easier to sell.
A more AFK-able option is to craft Gold necklaces worth 142 GP. An inventory of 27 Gold bars takes a minute to turn into Gold necklaces, allowing you to AFK for that duration. In an hour you will be able to craft 1,620 Gold necklaces and make 129,600 GP/hr.

Cutting Yew trees in a Forestry World makes 23,688 GP/hr and gives 39k Woodcutting XP/hr.
Yew trees require level 60 Woodcutting to chop. The best locations for chopping Yew trees on F2P Forestry Worlds are at Edgeville or on the Grand Exchange, which are both populated due to a nearby bank.

Chopping yew trees gives Yew logs worth 84 GP each. Chopping them in a Forestry world, where many players are also chopping the same trees, gives a chance to spawn Forestry events, which can give Anima-infused bark.
Anima-infused bark is worth 176 GP each when buying the felling axe handle, and each event can give 100-300 Anima-infused bark.
At 99 Woodcutting and using a Rune axe, I was able to chop 141 Yew logs worth 11,844 GP. In an hour, I would be able to chop 282 Yew logs and make 23,688 GP/hr.

Forestry events can boost the GP per hour for each event spawning. I got 383 Anima-infused bark worth 67,408 GP from 1 Rising Roots event, which happened on a separate session.

Runelite Plugins exist to make our OSRS lives easier and more convenient. Here are useful plugins for doing AFK activities.

The AFK-Overlay Plugin displays a window overlay that is always on top of other applications. It can display your current Health, Prayer, Special Attack, and Status. It can also display bright colors to alert you when your character has become idle.
You can set threshold values for Hitpoints, Prayer, and Special Attack. The plugin will alert you when any of these stats reach the threshold you have set. This is useful for AFK combat activities and can help prevent deaths.

The Logout Timer plugin allows you to extend your Idle timeout from the default 5 minutes, up to a maximum of 30 minutes.

If you’re playing on mobile, you can extend your AFK logout timer by going through “All settings” and searching AFK. You can set it to a maximum of 30 minutes, the same as the Logout Timer plugin in Runelite.
Killing Rune dragons provides the most GP/hr at 2,200,674 GP/hr and also gives 93k Melee XP/hr and 30k Hitpoints XP/hr. It is the best method for making GP while progressing your melee stats.
Rune dragons hit hard. Check your Hitpoints between AFK stretches.
The best AFK method and without risk of dying is chopping the Engorged bloodwood tree, which currently makes 1,434,300 GP/hr and gives 70k Woodcutting XP/hr. The value of each Bucket of bloodwood sap is currently 71,715 GP, which is well above its average price following the release of Raids 4, The Fractured Archives.
If you value AFK time above all else, then chopping Infected roots gives the most AFK time. Chopping Infected roots can last you your entire idle time before you log out.
For Free-to-Play, Smithing Rune 2h swords and trading directly to other players makes the most GP/hr. The downside is you will need 99 Smithing, which is a steep requirement for F2P. You will also need 31,646,376 GP in capital to buy enough Runite bars to last an hour of smithing.
The best AFK skill for making money in OSRS is Woodcutting. Chopping the Engorged bloodwood tree requires level 77 Woodcutting, and makes 1,434,300 GP/hr. Completion of The Blood Moon Rises quest is required to access Vampyrium, where the tree can be found.
You can get 25 minutes AFK timer in OSRS by setting up your Logout Timer plugin in Runelite. The Logout Timer plugin can be set to a maximum of 30 minutes.
For OSRS Mobile, you can go to All Settings and search for the AFK logout timer and set it to 30 minutes.
The best AFK money makers in OSRS in 2026 are:
For making money, the most AFK thing to do in OSRS is Chopping Infected roots making 175,112 GP/hr, which can last for 25 minutes or until your inventory is full of logs.
For training, fighting the Gem Crab can give you 10 minutes of AFK combat training each instance.
