OSRS Waterfall Quest Guide

OSRS Waterfall Quest Guide

Waterfall Quest is about treasure hidden somewhere in Baxtorian Falls. It involves running past level 86 Fire Giants and level 84 Moss Guardians without any equipment, so hardcore ironmen should be wary. They both have a max hit of 11 and 14 HP, respectively, so you should get above 20 HP to make it easier.

The Waterfall quest has no skill or quest requirements.

General Questing recommendations: Enable RuneLite Quest Helper in your RuneLite plugin section, hold your space bar to skip through NPC dialog, and use number keys for chatting dialog.

Item requirements for Waterfall Quest

  • 6 Air runes
  • 6 Earth runes
  • 6 Water runes
  • Rope

Obtaining the required items on Ironman

Air, earth, and water runes can be purchased from the Aubury rune shop located in Varrock. A rope can be purchased from any general store.

All items listed below can be bought from the Grand Exchange

Walkthrough of Waterfall Quest

Bank the runes and put the ropes in your inventory. You won't need the runes till the last part of the quest.

  • Talk to Almera northeast. She can be found northeast of the Baxtorian falls. Use games necklace and run south to get here. Reply 1 and she will tell you to help check on her son, Hudson by using the raft outside of the house.

location of Almera

  • Board the raft, west of Almera, and go through the conversation with Hudon. He will reject your help and say he is in search of treasure.

Raft west of Almera

  • Walk south and use the rope on the rock for your character to swim accross. Do not click "swim" or your character will be sent downstream. After crosssing, use it on the dead tree there to go down the waterfall then left-click the barrel there to get into it. Note: if you don't use a rope on the dead tree and instead click "swim" or you attempt to open the door under the waterfall, you will be sent downstream.

Going to waterfall in waterfall quest

Barrel in waterfall quest

  • Enter the building north and go up the ladder This building is the tourist destination centre. Search the bookcase for a book named book of Baxtorian, and read it. Note that you must open the book or the key will not appear in the next part. You will learn that Glarial's pebble can be found under Tree Gnome village, which gives access to her tomb.

Ladder in waterfall quest

  • You need to go down the ladder at the centre of the Tree gnome village maze, south west of Ardougne. If you have completed Tree gnome village quest, you can teleport there from Grand exchange using the spirit tree or talk to Elkoy and follow him to skip through the maze. If not, you have to navigate through the maze by following the path shown below.

tree gnome village

  • Go down the ladder and search the crate in the northwestern part for a key. Watch out for the Hobgoblins within the cave if low level as they will attack you. I did this quest with only 10HP and i had to eat few times to run past them safely. Next, open the door in the northwestern part of the cave using the key you found and talk to Golrie there to receive the Glarial's pebble. Note: Glarial’s pebble is required for the follow-up quest, Roving Elves. If you plan to complete that quest later, you can save time by keeping the pebble after finishing this quest. You can also obtain multiple pebbles by dropping one and speaking to Golrie again. This is especially recommended for lower-level players in case you die during the next step.

Raiding the Tomb

  • Teleport to the Barbarian outpost. With the bank there, bank everything except the pebble, food, stamina potions, and games necklace for quick exit. Note that no kind of armour will be allowed into the next area. However, jewellery like the games necklace or graceful outfit are allowed.
  • Go to Glarial's tombstone, east of Baxtorian Falls, and use your pebble on it to enter a cave. You can’t enter with weapons, armour, combat items (runes/arrows), or any type of logs. You can drop items at the gravestone and pick them up afterward. Inside, you’ll find high-level monsters — ignore them, or attack a skeleton or zombie before heading west. This prevents a Moss Guardian from targeting you, which is strongly advised for low-level players since Moss Guardians can hit up to 14 and may one-hit very low levels.

Glarial's tombstone

  • Search the chest in the western room for Glarial's amulet, and search Glarial's tomb in the south room for Glarial's urn. Ensure to eat and watch your HP as you get attacked in this area. Warning: Searching the coffin is an uninterruptible action. You cannot eat or teleport during it, and monsters in the dungeon can still attack you. This can be deadly for low-level players, especially if a Moss Guardian is on you

getting Glarial's amulet and urn

Baxtorian Treasures

  • Get 6 Air runes, 6 Earth runes, 6 Water runes, Glarial's urn, and Glarial's amulet with some food.
  • Make sure the amulet is in your inventory. You may also want to re-gear for combat and ensure you still have a rope. Return to Almera’s house and board the raft — you’ll crash again. Use the rope on the large grey rock on the small patch of land downstream, then use the rope on the dead tree to climb down. Once you reach the waterfall ledge, equip Glarial's amulet, then open the door to enter the falls.

entering waterfall

  • Take the eastern passage first and search the crates for a key. Then head north through the western passage. I did this quest with a 10hp account as shown below and i could it easily get past the Fire Giants by first tagging a Shadow Spider (or even a rat if players are fighting the giants) to prevent Fire Giants from attacking. On busy worlds, players training here make it easier to pass, which is recommended for low-level players since Fire Giants can one-hit 10 HP accounts

Waterfall cave

The Waterfall cave

  • You’ll find six pillars, two statues, and a chalice trophy. Use one Earth rune, one Water rune, and one Air rune on each pillar. Afterward, use the Glarial amulet on the statue of Glarial. And finally, use Glarial's urn on the chalice in the center of the room to complete the quest.

Pillars, Statue of Glarial and Chalice

Congratulations! You have completed the waterfall quest. It took me about 8 minutes to complete this quest.
